In the world of re-enactment, we used to call people who were obsessed with authenticity &quot;rivet-counters&quot;.

To my mind, a spiritual experience or other interaction with the numinous is good as long as it  expands your consciousness (and by extension, the collective store of spirituality) and doesn&#039;t involve a deity telling you to harm others.

I am completely mystified by the kind of people who refuse to countenance any spiritual idea that isn&#039;t old.  All of the &quot;old&quot; ideas were new once...</description>
